Character Building:
Becoming all you can be
Growing in God often means we grow as individuals too. From establishing a sense of academic faithfulness to building quality relationships, you’ll find that applying biblical principles to your college life just makes sense.
It’s amazing to see our Koinonia members grow into leaders who share a unique desire to welcome God into every aspect of their lives. Some of our members have grown up in the church and yet their Koinonia experience helps them “own their faith.” It’s a great thing to see our students really desire to serve God.
Leadership Training:
Our goal at Koinonia is to disciple and equip our members to lead. We’re so excited when our young leaders step up and fill leadership positions in our ministry.
We’ve found that it’s effective when students take the initiative and invite their own friends to Koinonia. And when these students see their peers leading the event – well that’s relatable ministry at its best!
Missions Trips:
Helping those in need
You’ve probably heard it said that when you go on a missions trip you never return home the same. That’s why Koinonia places such an emphasis on this form of ministry. Through missions trips, our college students are able to break out of their own environments to serve and minister to those in need in different cultures.
Koinonia members have ministered in New Orleans during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, in Mississippi for Habitat for Humanity, in West Virginia for environmental stewardship and restoration, and in New York City to help restore a drug rehab shelter.
Not only do our students help others on our various missions opportunities, they grow as individuals and as a team.
Jubilee Conference:
What’s it all about anyway?
Each year, Koinonia members have the opportunity to attend the Jubilee Conference put on by the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO). At Jubilee, our students grow in understanding how they can apply a biblical worldview to their college experience and later to their own careers.

Noun 1.koinonia - Christian fellowship or communion with God or with fellow Christians.
“When I first started Koinonia I was an average ‘preacher’s kid’ who thought he knew a good bit of everything about Christianity.
"Through Koinonia I’ve been learning more about discipleship, how to grow in my faith and how to show my God-given inner light to others.
"It has helped me grow in so many ways.”
